COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic British Bitter, brewed by the Freeminer Brewery in the Royal Forest of Dean and made with malted barley, from the Warminster Maltings in Wiltshire, the oldest working malting house in the country. Goldings and Fuggles hops combine to furnish the beer with a satisfying bitterness and delightful, hopped finish. Perfect with casseroles, steaks and red-meat pies.

Copper color with a small, quickly falling head. Light metallic and earthy aroma. Light apple and spice flavors. Fruity. Moderate biscuit character. Metallic twang shows up here and there.

Bottled 19/01/13. A brown beer with a tiny off-white ring of head. Mostly malty and fruity. A decent body for its strength. Easy to drink and well balanced. Quite old fshioned but competently brewed.

Christmas Eve 2012: sharing a few bottles at home with dad. This 500ml offering had a BBD of 1 Jun 2013. Pale amber body with a white head that didnít excite. Malts just about push the hops into second place throught the tasting: malty nose, malty flavours and a malty finish, all with a hop undertone that kept below the surface but stopped the beer becoming sweet or too malty. A tad on the watery and thin side body wise, but an OK beer when you consider it has been brewed for a supermarket chain.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Coop. Light amber metallic hop aroma, some cereal and herbs. Quite carbonated, a citrus ginger and honey sweetness. Finish is malty with a lingering spice.

Stodgy aroma. Stodgy taste too. A bit dead, but it is a bottled beer. MAlty, but goes nowhere. Meh. Perfect with casseroles? Iíd bet itís better cooked into casseroles.

4.5% amber colour with a thin head, sweet malt aroma, bitter caramel malt and hop taste, another nice one.

Bottle from Co-op, Syston. Pours a nice chestnut brown, clear, very decent head. Tastes highly bitter to begin with and the finish is long. Thereís a woody smokiness to this. Faint aroma. Good ale.

Bottled, 500ml from a Co Op in Brighton. Gold with fizzed white head. Carbonated, wet cardboard flavour initially then a sweet boiled vegetable flavour. Thin on the palate, short on the finish. Not particularly very good.

Got home from work tonight to find the missus had left me a bottle of this on the worktop with a blackened chicken breast (takeout from The Harvester) wrapped in stained kitchen roll. True love. The beer is a light brown streak of vanilla, raisin, English apple and breadiness peppered with aniseed; thin-headed, caramel-heavy with a stir of twig about it, but decent. Long-ago ground pepper, rotting fruit (apples, blackberries), brown Dolly Mixtures aroma.

500ml bottle. Amber with a thin white head; slightly musty malt aroma; a pleasant toasty malt flavour; and some gentle bitterness and caramel to finish. Not very exciting.
