Cask Conditioned at The New Inn, Clitheroe, Lancs. Chestnut coloured with bubbly head. Smooth malty bitter and definitely a session beer, quite enjoyable too. Plenty of malt character with a nice dry finish.

Once you get over the fact that its a bit odd to call a 3.9% beer ESB, this is quite a decent session bitter. Regulation amber colour. Decidedly malty for a basic bitter, but there’s some fruitiness plenty of earthy hops in the mix too. Finishes dry. A nicely balanced, easy drinking session beer. Cask (handpump), New Inn, Clitheroe.
