A pale, lightly coloured beer but of premium strength, with the added kick of a touch of real Jamaican ginger.

As the name would suggest, this beer is made with the addition of ginger. The surprise is that the ginger doesn’t come through at all clearly in the aroma, but asserts itself as a very marked spicy note in the flavour, although I’m not sure I would have identified the spice as ginger had the name not made it obvious. However, the ginger doesn’t overwhelm. The downside of that is that nothing else asserts itself to any extent. It all just seems a bit watery and sweetish. Overall, not bad though. Cask (handpump), Lord Moon of the Mall (JDW), Whitehall, London SW1.

Maidstone Fest. Sweet ginger flavoured premium bitter with a dusty finish and some sulphury notes.
