COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A stronger than expected mild. Very dark, with a full flavour and a slightly bitter aftertaste, this places mild in the forefront of cask-conditioned beers again. It has a fullness, which as its name suggests lets you know it's there. A very frequent medal winner at the Great British Beer Festival.

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Spring BF, 14/03/14. Dark mahogany brown with moderate light tan spotting. Nose is dark fruit skins, tobacco, plums, faint sherry tang. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, cherry notes, leather, dark stoned fruit. Medium bodied, light drying effect in the close. Decent enough mild.

Bottle courtesey of Ellen and Malcolm. Thanks! Pours a deep ruby colour with a good tan head. This is quite a light tasting brew with red fruits and surprisingly little in the way of roast malt flavour coming through. there’s something a touch home-brew about it. Perhaps some yeasty aromas. Nice enough and drinkable, but lacks body and depth of flavour.

(Cask): Almost black with a small frothy tan head. Faint aroma of roasted malt and liquorice. Overly tarty flavour. Liquorice with some weak notes of coffee and roasted malt. Watery and not pleasant to drink.

Pint on cask at the henry Addington canary wharf. Aroma is acidic granny smith apple peel. Tart. Chestnut brown colour with a thick persistent creamy beige head. Looks are about all this beer has going for it. Taste is acid cider apple granny smith. Pretty bad. Could not finish the pint.

Certainly a dark mild, but not very strong however what this beer doesn’t have in strength it does have in flavour and aroma. The intensely dark mild has a distinct toffee and sweet aroma which is the forefront to a powerful mild which has a chocolate and caramel flavour with a slick texture. This beer really does quench your thirst and is very deserving of it’s gold medal.
