3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask gravity at The George, Bethersden. I saw this at The Chambers BF the previous weekend in Folkestone, but they had sold out of it before I got the chance to sample it. Seems to be a new beer from Coach House, maybe reviving their St George’s Heritage Ale. I think that I had the first pint of this. Pale copper/gold. No head. Some citric aroma of the orangey variety. Sharp orange fruit flavour in mouth. Some hop on end. For a 4.9% beer, it drinks like a 3.8%. Fruit is nice.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of orange, pear, lots of floral hops and some yeast.
Taste is pretty much the same, tons of floral hops, little sweetness, orange, pear and some melon. Light bodied but a watery texture. A dry, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Ok but too thin.
