Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England May 7, 2008 Cask @ The Bear, Camberwell. Amber colour with foamy head. Aroma is a little skunky, malty, sulphur, citrus hops. Taste is caramel, creamy. Mouthfeel is watery to start but sweetens before leaving a bitter aftertaste.
Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Oct 3, 2008 A Mes rate: gravicask at the Bree Louise.<\i> Copperish red colour with no head whatsoever. Typical of the Bree Louise the cask has clearly been sat on the bar for a while without any facilities for proper chillage and it’s now becoming sour. Seems to be reasonably balanced underneath but all I’m getting is a lemony sourness. Double up the alcohol and add a load of body and it would be able to handle it easily. As it is, it’s ok but it’s really struggling. Bree Louise sort your gravity temperature out! Magic_dave6 (3975), London, Greater London, England Sep 3, 2008 Cask in the new crown. Aroma is malty and buttery, dycetyl. Taste is similar, malty and pritty boring stuff. hughie (2252), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 27, 2008 Updated: Sep 16, 2008Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Dark coppery amber with a creamy head. Malty aroma develops with a bit of yeast. Malt taste has salty traces of marmite. Some bitterness. Despite its old fashioned qualities, I wasn’t too keen. 16.9.08, Same location. Slight vinegar aroma. Sour, aspirin taste. Some late bitterness. Butter, lightly smoked, very sweet, dark caramel, light bitter, hint of herbs. Sticky mouthfeel. Flavorful but a bit off.
