Cask; Regular.
A rich golden coloured smooth premium ale. Brewed with a full malt mash, this beer has a robust malty palate and well-balanced steely bitterness producing a massive complexity of flavours. A former Champion Premium Beer of Britain.

Clear pale yellow pour mounted by a small white film. Soft bready and grassy nose that stays far from any glimpse at complexity. Nice healthy and creamy mouthfeel, but the flavours needs an uplifting to pretend to greatness.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear light amber color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, toffee, butter, (creamy caramel). Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, vegetables, slight apples and some yeast. Flavour pleasantly hoppy, malty and yeasty. A nicely balanced thing.

Cask, CBOB stillage, GBBF 07. Gold with no head. Nose is yeasty bready malt, slight hop. Mouth is warm sweetness with some bready caramel notes. Leaves alcoholic warm feel at the back of the throat. Quite nice.

A Mes rate: Cask @ Baker Street JDW. Post Horn? Is this a beer you are supposed to have after sex? Slightly sweet aroma. Surprisingly sweet malted barley flavour. Pear and hops in the finish.

Cask, The Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Pale yellow with a small head. Aromas are buttery with fruity lemon and some sourness. Flavours are thin malts with too much sourness. Probably not in the best of condition.

Cask (gravity dispense) at White Cliffs Beer Festival, February 2006. Pale straw/gold colour. Soft, herbaceous and grassy. The aroma is stronger than the flavour. Light mouthfeel, slightly lacking in grip. If its going for a golden ale style, it doesn’t really have enough aromatic character. If its going for a bitter style, it doesn’t really have enough bitterness. That’s not to say I disliked it, it just seemed a bit undecided about what it was trying to achieve.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Pale amber, rich creamy head. Oily orangey hop aroma. Resiny, orangey fflavour with undertones of pine-apples and paint. Long bitter finish. I like it!
