3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Theydon_Bois (2957) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2012
Served on cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green into an English half pint jug (Jan ’12).
A little background, this beer was brewed as a tribute to the great English actor Pete Postlethwaite, who died in January 2011 born in Warrington home of the Coach House brewery.
Poured to a mid golden/amber colour with a small white head that held up fairly well through drinking.
A floral, hoppy, grassy aroma attacks the nose - good all round sense attack!
Quite a dry and hoppy beer, less flowery in taste than aroma but still a little floral flavour in there. Also a sweet and light malted flavour.
Mouthfeel is adequate, not full bodied, not thin - just right, dry and bitter in the aftertaste, perhaps more than the floral/hop aroma and taste would suggest.
Overall - a decent tribute to a favourite actor of mine!
