Cask; Seasonal - Christmas.
A strong hoppy and fruity Christmas Ale with a pronounced bitterness. Improves with age when malt and almond flavours begin to develop.

Cask at the Monk’s Retreat, Reading. Light amber with a thick cream head and a light prickly fizz. Sweet with ribena, some caramel and notes of liquorice and festive fart. Pretty much as you’d expect a UK Christmas ale to taste ie a bit crap. Great condition- credit to Wetherspoons- but still crap.

Cask, hand-pulled, Prestwick Pioneer, caramel, Christmas berries aroma, deep amber with negligible head and lacing, sweet malt, fruity, some spiciness, oily, soft carbonation.

Cask at the Pump House, Shirley. 5.2% Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light medicinal yeast. The flavour is light bitter sweet with a light malt, hop palate and some red berry fruit notes. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. This is about as Christmassy as Ebenezer Scrooge!

Cask, 5.2 % abv, half pint at Crosse Keys (JDW) in London, shared with Finn. A filmy layer to an unclear brownish body. Dotted spots on the glass. Aroma of caramel and Christmas berries. Sweet malt-fruity flavours with spices. Jam-like. Dry and sweet ending. Smooth in the mouth. So and so (30.11.2015).

Cask at JDW WIQ, London. It pours a dark ruby / copper color with small tan head. Aroma is sweet with notes of dark fruits and caramel. More dark fruits and caramel in the taste, light vanilla. Light bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, meh

Not very seasonal tasting. Slight sweetness, toffee, or maybe sherry. Nice session ale

Cask at The Water House (JDW), Durham, £2.05/pint. At 5.2%. Pours deep amber with hints of ruby and a smooth, off-white head. The nose is earthy, with boozy, berry and basement notes. The taste is both dry and rich, I detected winter fruits and cognac. It’s a little sickly and a little thick and chewy. Not one I enjoyed much.

Fra cask på Crosse Keys Bank 30 Nov 15. Delt med Rune. Lett mørk gyldenbrun. Skum langs glasset. Aroma av julekrydder. Smaken lett krydret. Julekakeaktig. Svakt tørr bitter avslutning.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2015 On cask at Green Dragon (JDW), Leek. Pours amber with white head. Very, very malty, so much so nothing else could find a way through. A task to drink,

Cask@lychegatetavern, wolverhampton. Amber colour, small head. Malt aroma. Taste is spicy and a little sweet molasses with a alcohol kick. The body was a little too light. The best thing about this pint was afterwards when I could feel the warm spice lingering. A decent ale for Christmas.
