WesKBob (162), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA May 24, 2008 Pours a medium brown with a thin white head and light lacing. Aroma is sweet, with hints of toffee, sweet fruit and caramel malt. Flavor was not great, but respectable with chocolate and coffee malt overtones. The biggest weakness was the thin, watery mouthfeel, which seems to be an unfortunate mark of many of Coach’s beers. jgb9348 (1848), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2008 Deep amber coloured body with tints of brown and a large frothy head. Aroma of raisins, strong alcohol and nuts. Light-bodied; Strong unfinished taste of alcohol and wort. Aftertaste has more of the same - a bad taste throughout. Overall, not a good beer - this recipe should seriously be altered. I sampled this beer from draught at the brewpub in Bricktown, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 13-December-2005. eaglefan538 (2077), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Mar 19, 2007 Good grief, this was bad along with a bartender who was wasted and completely abnoxious. Usual brown color appearance, nothing to rewrite in that regard. The aroma was chocolate, very faint roasted notes. The flavor was oddly fruity chocolate with very faint nuts. The fruitiness began to drive me nuts as it became raspberry tasting after a few sips. I was convinced they had turned this into something like Lost Coast’s Raspberry Brown, yet this thing was way underattenuated and astringent. Not a good production. MrRomero (1896), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Feb 4, 2007 Updated: Feb 5, 2007On tap at Coachs: poured brown with a small off white head more due to the bartender than the beer itself. Moderate malt aroma. Little hops. Flavor is mostly malt with a slight bits of hops. Decent. Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 21, 2007 The body is a light chestnut and it has an off-white ring in lieu of a head. The aroma is pretty sweet, a blend of caramel and toffee. Some toast is added to the flavor as well as an earthy, floral bitterness that keeps your teeth from rotting. There’s a slight touch of sourness in the taste that prevents this from being a much better beer. Coach’s Restaurant & Brewery, Oklahoma City, OK
