Pint at the OKC brewpub. Pours amber with eggshell white head and good lace. Malt is biscuit with some butter. Fruity esters. Herbal hops. Coconut? Biscuit malt flavors with mild bitterness. Medium body. Average carbonation. Dry finish. This really didn’t remind me much of an English beer.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2007 Draft at the Library, Norman. Amber. Light head. A little citric taste. The hardy flavor comes to fruition after warming a bit. The bitterness comes with that. Maybe it’s just me, but all Coachs’ beer has a distinct flavor. Maybe it’s the water. But it tends to draw away from what could be an even more solid beer.

(Tap) On tap at The Library. Pours an amber color with a small head and some pretty good lacing. Interesting hop notes. Nothing too bitter, but with some mild pine and citrus in there. Balanced, with a pretty good mouthfeel. Nothing too exciting here, but one of Coach’s better beers.

Draft at Coach’s-Bricktown. Poured amber with a smallish off white head. Served ice cold like all of their beers. Mild earthy aroma. Flavor is somewhat earthy, mild hops. A pretty nice beer.

Amber body. Sweet notes on the noes. Lacks a bitter note in the mouth. Malty with some skunk flavours. I think the batch was infected.

BBB63 (5023) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 19, 2004
Tap in Tulsa: Copper hue with small fizzy head and some lace. The aroma hints of roasted malts, minor caramel, grapefruit, pine and floral hops, and earthy yeast esters. Nice bitter tones with malt notes. Slightly grassy and citric nature. Traditional bitter finish. Medium-bodied with an astringent and lively mouthfeel. A solid ESB once you let it warm up, served way too cold. Refreshing and quaffable.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
3fourths (6400) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 2, 2003
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2004 Soft amber and clear. Aroma is slight pine and lemon with some chemical/medicine qualities as well. Served way too cold. Body is thin, not bitter initially, but makes up for it through the rest of the drink. Moderately bitter finish, flavor of English hops, robust with flavors of citrus and wood.
