3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Not sure I get any Maple syrup out of this one.   Somewhat thin, yet clean.   Roasty, but not strong.   A very soft Porter overall.   Light bitterness.   Smooth, but needs to be a bit more chewy.   Wished the Maple sweetness was larger.   As is, okay.

Portland airport buy. Doesnít look like a porter. Pours the color of maple syrup. Little head. Sweet malty beer. Not very poter-esk. very drinkable but not noteworthy. Not stylistically rateable

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared by beastmaster. Pours amber reddish orange with a small white creamy head. Aroma of maple, hot garbage, lager yeast. Weird. This looks and smells nothing like a porter. Flavor is, um, some combination of maple wood chunks, Asian tea leaves, smoke (wtf?), more tea. Well that was weird. Medium body, a bit watered down, with medium plus plus carbonation. Not sure about this one. Not offensive really, just a bit bland and boring. And definitely not a porter.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle with Willi. Smells sweet and slightly dry of caramel and fresh wort. Tastes dry and surprisingly hoppy, with maybe a hint of oak. Really not a Porter at all, more of a red.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber bought somewhere. Pours a dark copper color with a small white head. A sweet nose of caramel, toasted malts, some maple maybe. The flavor is similar: maybe some roast, really toffee and toasted malts, sweet maple. A tad thin. Overall, good.

On draught at coalition - pours a very dark clear brown. Foamy white head. Nose of coffee beans, roasted malt, and earthiness. Taste is of malt, diluted coffee, with slight taste of maple. Wanting a little more maple in this one.

Draft at Coalition Brewing in Portland, OR on 4 June 2013.
Poured a very appealing dark brown with a light brown persistent head. Surprisingly light, quite sweet aroma. Maple is quite forward on the flavour and the sweetness is totally balanced. The mouth feel is also a little watery, but the flavours are still good. Ok beer, but the Bourbon aged version far surpassed it.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours dark brown with a frothy 4 finger beige head. Aromas of chocolate and sugar. Med body with frothy carb. Flavor is dark malt and chocolate with what seems to be a hint of coffee. So far Iím not getting clear maple l- but there is a dark sweetness in the background. To me itís finishing on the dry side. With earth and astringency compared to many porters. With a lot of time I think Iím getting some maple.
