Serving: from bottle--purchased at Made in Oregon. Aroma: light caramel malt with chocolate and vanilla. Appearance: very small, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, light-brown body. Taste: lightly acidic initial taste and lightly sweet, smokey finish with short duration. Palate: light-to-medium bodied with watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: nothing memorable. I didn’t detect any maple whatsoever.

Bottle:   Not sure I get any Maple syrup out of this one.   Somewhat thin, yet clean.   Roasty, but not strong.   A very soft Porter overall.   Light bitterness.   Smooth, but needs to be a bit more chewy.   Wished the Maple sweetness was larger.   As is, okay.

Portland airport buy. Doesn’t look like a porter. Pours the color of maple syrup. Little head. Sweet malty beer. Not very poter-esk. very drinkable but not noteworthy. Not stylistically rateable

BMMillsy (1334) - Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Bottle shared by beastmaster. Pours amber reddish orange with a small white creamy head. Aroma of maple, hot garbage, lager yeast. Weird. This looks and smells nothing like a porter. Flavor is, um, some combination of maple wood chunks, Asian tea leaves, smoke (wtf?), more tea. Well that was weird. Medium body, a bit watered down, with medium plus plus carbonation. Not sure about this one. Not offensive really, just a bit bland and boring. And definitely not a porter.

Bottle with Willi. Smells sweet and slightly dry of caramel and fresh wort. Tastes dry and surprisingly hoppy, with maybe a hint of oak. Really not a Porter at all, more of a red.

Bomber bought somewhere. Pours a dark copper color with a small white head. A sweet nose of caramel, toasted malts, some maple maybe. The flavor is similar: maybe some roast, really toffee and toasted malts, sweet maple. A tad thin. Overall, good.

22oz bottle from "Lifesource" in Salem OR $4.99 This says 5.8% alc. Pours a pretty dark brown almost mahogany colour. Nice frothy, thick light tan head. Nice caramel, fudge, maple syrup aroma, almost creamy. Taste similar but has a more bitter dark chocolate ans sea salt thing going on..maple in the back taste. Nice smooth ,likable mouth feel. I kinda liked this one..pretty interesting. I guess im in a minority!

On draught at coalition - pours a very dark clear brown. Foamy white head. Nose of coffee beans, roasted malt, and earthiness. Taste is of malt, diluted coffee, with slight taste of maple. Wanting a little more maple in this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beese (1707) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 23, 2013
Draft at Coalition Brewing in Portland, OR on 4 June 2013. Poured a very appealing dark brown with a light brown persistent head. Surprisingly light, quite sweet aroma. Maple is quite forward on the flavour and the sweetness is totally balanced. The mouth feel is also a little watery, but the flavours are still good. Ok beer, but the Bourbon aged version far surpassed it.
