Sampled at Dice’s going away party. More red than most porters. A roadted aroma with lighter maple. Fruits wre a nice touch and mix in the flavor with the roasted notes and maple. Hops are very light and more could have helped. Still, it is tasty.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear, deep brown colored body with a mahogany hue. Finger-width, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy with a light nutty sweetness and a light roast backing. Just a touch of chocolate and a hint of maple. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened, grainy and nutty malts with light, smooth maple note and hints of chocolate. A light roast towards the end with some earth as this finishes clean, smooth, and dry with a light bitterness and balanced sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent porter. Nice and smooth body with a balanced, but unexciting flavor. Not bad.

Tap at Beermongers, Portland - 06/11/12. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin off white head. Nose is light roast malt and treacle toffee. Taste as nose, light dark fruits. Medium bodied with soft carbonation with a smooth finish.

Tap @ Grain and Gristle... Poured dark, pretty much black with a thin, khaki head. Clean drinking, moderate to low roast with malt sweetness and grains and a hint of maple. If you weren’t looking for the maple you might not have known it was there. Thick and sticky mouthfeel. Dark chocolate and maple leaned towards a molasses feel on the palate.

Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 28, 2011
A dark clear reddish brown porter with a thin moka head. In aroma, a pleasant nutty chocolate, caramel, light butterscotch. In mouth, a bitter porter with bitter chocolate, faint maple extract, not bad. On tap at the brewpub, July 30 2011.

Easily the most interesting beer on their menu. Smoky rich porter with a faint sweet maple backbone. Delicious, and different than what you usual find at a tiny local brewpub. Well done.

Dark nut brown color, small beige head. Toasted coffee in the otherwise caramelly nose. Light to medium bodied. Sweetish caramelly flavor with coffee and coffee beans. Not really a porter, more like a sweetish red ale with coffee.

Chocolate sweetness; low roast. Appears a dark, dark mahogoney but tinges of garnet. Chocolate and molasses start and leave a slightly sweet finish. Medium-heavy body. A good porter; less smoke and more chocolate flavor.

Draught. Poured dark clear red brown with a medium beige head. Moderate lacing. Maple overtones in the aroma. Roasty notes in the medium body, Just a tinge of maple sweetness. Roasty finish, with a hop edge that surprised me.
