Bottle. Barnyard lemon malt aroma. Pale yellow with small head. Light sweet lemon malt and mildly bitter grass/hay flavor. Light body. A nice beer but not very Koelsch-like.

11/21/2010: COAST 32/50 Kölsch... Aroma: Light lemongrass; grassy. Appearance: Hazy, dull yellow - a bit like urine; thin, off-white crown on top. Flavor: What, yeast, grasy, dusty vanilla, moldy bitterness. Palate: Light in body; thin; very little carbonation. Overall: Hmmm... not so good.

Bottle from Greenville Beer Exchange. Pours golden with a thin white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. A little bit of fruitiness on the nose. Very crisp and clean on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid for style.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
SOn draught at Charleston Beer Works. Pours a dense yellowish straw color with slight white head. Musty aroma. Light body. Effervescent mouth feel. Tangy character. Wheat flavor. Strong citrus-like flavors drown out pale malt. Crisp but not clean
. Almost Gose-like. A bit extreme.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at COAST. It pours pale yellow with a small white head. The nose is dough, grass, light spice, natural yoghurt and floral notes. The taste is crisp, grassy, dough, floral and earth with a set finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Light, crisp and refreshing stuff. Very drinkable. Decent.

22 oz bottle This was given to me by my son on vacation in Holden Beach. The Kolsch poured a hazy straw color with a foamy head. The aroma was of sweet malt and fruit. This is a very drinkable beer to beat the heat of summer. The beer had soft carbonation. The finish was smooth with some fruitiness. This was my first beer from Coast.
