3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber via trade thanks to monsterzero on BA. Pours black in color with a small tan head that leaves a ring. The aroma is roasty and a little smoky with coffee and chocolate notes. Whiskey too of course. Pretty nice. The flavor is really solid too. Balanced and tasty, with dark chocolate, coffee, roast, oak, and bourbon. Integrated very well. Smooth on the palate and not too boozy with full body and low carbonation. A solid -bal aged RIS overall. Enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light vanilla in the aroma - great, subtle use of barrel aging. Very rich, dark chocolatey dark roast flavor - not super complex but well executed and not overpowered by any one element.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
this one was a very good ba version of a nice original imo. its not over barreleled in any way, but only spiced with it. the awesome smokey peaty aromas and tastes are still there, with a light spirited dusting. great stuff.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wax coated bomber dated bottled on June 15, 2010. picked up from the brewery and shared with Tronraner, We got a fairly still pour with no head and a super dark color. The aroma is tantalizing with notes of chocolate, molasses, licorice, vanilla and oak. The palate is dense but not ultra heavy and sports very low carbonation. Notes of cherries, whiskey soaked brownies and almost genuine chocolate make this a delicious dessert type beer without being overly sweet. The finish is oaky, bringing this beast together.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle straight from the brewery, shared by NachlamSie. Pours ultra black with very small tan head. The aroma is molasses, vanilla, almond, some dark fruit notes, a smoky hint, lots of fresh cocoa, and a bit of roastiness. The flavor is light coffee, lots of cocoa, prune, and a lovely oaken tone. There is a fairly strong smokiness in the finish, from the barrel char I presume. It also finishes with slight alcohol and sweet chocolate. There is a very mellow piney bitterness throughout to keep the sweet elements in check. There are a lot of strong flavors in this, but they are in an impressive balance. This is a delicious beer, indeed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by scubarex as apart of our Epic Chicago Tasting. We drank all three versions side by side: JD, BT, and Regular. Poured into BA taster.
A - Pours black, very little head, thin ring around the glass.
S - Chocolate, more alcohol hotness when compared to the JD and the regular version. Maybe I’m not a big fan of Buffalo Trace? I don’t know. Dark fruits, burnt sugars, lots of alcohol.
T - Chocolate, lots of alcohol, oak, some subtle sweetness in the form of dark fruits. Bitter dark chocolate and hot alcohol finish.
M - Medium, rich, oily, semi-dry finish.
D - Better then the regular version, but can’t touch the JD version.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This was picked up directly from COAST and consumed the next day. Served from bottle into a COAST imperial pint. Pours black with a one finger light tan head. Maintains excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. The flavor was of malt, cream, vanilla, bourbon, and dark chocolate. It was heavy on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this is an outstanding brew. It is in the Top 3 of the best stouts I have sampled. It is not lacking in any aspect with overall pleasantness nor complexity. It was completely worth the 4 hour drive home to get my hands on this brew. If you are a stout/barrel aged fan, you owe it to yourself to get your hands on this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
2010 release. Buffalo trace barrels. Beautiful black pour with good brown head. Huge vanilla nose with big bourbony characteristics in the flavor. Very mild on the alcohol flavor, but a very pleasnt warming sensation. Velvety body is enjoyable. Million thanks to brewengineer for sharing.
