Growler… Farewell to ibrew2or3This beer rocks!… Clear, dark, ruby ale with a creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The bouquet yields a bounty of milk chocolate and caramel with a splash of red wine and a mild wisp of smoke. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is sweet mocha, caramel and light vanilla. Despite all the malt, there is a semblance of balance. Finishes malty with a whisper of butterscotch. Thanks to markwise for providing this growler of world class beer!

growler. Whiskey barrel aged. Dark deep brown & malty. Peaty but w/ more vanilla & wood notes over whiskey taste. Very mild heat, nice & smooth.

Thanks to markwise for this one. It pours brownish copper with off white head. The aroma is sweet malty roasty malts, thin fig notes, a light amount of oak and vanilla. The taste has a nice mix of smooth fruitiness like figs and prunes as well as drying malt roastiness. Into the finish some earthiness joins in and hangs around well into the after taste.

Murky brown pour. Nose is chalked full of oaky tannins, caramel, and light bourbon. No buttery component that I could pick up. Flavor is oaky, vanilla, caramel and peat.. Finish is dry with a alcoholic bourbony blast

Bottle shared at Dstructo/Daknole tasting. Can’t remember who brought this one but thanks though. Aroma full of vanilla, butter scotch and slight brown sugar. Follows a lot in the flavor as well.

Kind of like a bigger red ale, not very hoppy but just enough to keep from being sweet. Semisweet caramels, a bit of brown sugar, no bourbon or oak to speak of, slight vanilla touches around the edges. Really drinkable and tasty, wouldn’t have guessed it was a Scotch Ale.

draft at Brewvival. yet another rarity and winner from the Coast boys. pours a reddish-brown with a soft, tan head and sticky lace. aroma is boozy and great with big notes of bourbon, oak, buttercream frosting, and dark fruits with hints of earth and burnt grain. flavor is very nice with big notes of butterscotch, brandied fruits, charcoal, and a bit of spice with big, smokey, bourbon coming through late. palate is full bodied and sticky sweet with light carbonation and a sweet, woody finish. overall, a big, sweet, bourbon lovers beer.

On growler from Greenville Beer Exchange. Pours a somewhat murky red-brown with an off-white head. Nose is lots of sweet dark malt with hints of earthy smoke. Flavor is similar- lots of sweet dark malt, some noticeable smoke, a hint of vanilla, and some wood. I get almost no barrel in this one,I really have to search to get hints of it. Finish is somewhat malty with hints of smoke in this light to medium-bodied scotch ale.
