22 oz. bottle, big thanks to Chris for this one! Deep black pour, smallish but pretty tan head. Nose and flavor are lovely, with good roasted bitterness to balance out nice sweet chocolate, black licorice, hints of cherry and plum. Not as rich or complex as something like Expedition, but lots going on, and not overwhelming. Really well done.

Black body, scantily clad lace all over my glass. Smooth, silky roasted malts. Viscous body carries everything well. Damn, I really enjoy this.

Bottle shared at RBWG grand tasting! Pours a thick black with bubbly brown head and light lace. Aroma is interesting, dark fruitiness on top of roast, taste follows. Good carbonation and a thick mouth. Very nice beer.

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours black-brown with a foamy beige head. The nose has burnt wood, whiskey, dark fruits, mild chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, boozy, some dry chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Modest warmth to finish, some baking cocoa, light warmth. Pretty decent balance. Nice beer.

Taster at RBWG 2014 grand tasting - thanks to the person who shared this! Dark brown, slightly red color, though mostly clear. Thin light brown head. Couple ropes and dots of lace. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Medium to bigger body. Good dark roast, light dark chocolate flavors, hint of dark fruit. Nice longer roasty bitter aftertaste. Bigger bitter taste, light sweet. Alcohol pretty well blended. Impressive imperial stout.
