3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours medium brown with a head that disappears fairly quickly. Nose is dominated by roasted malts. Also, some coffee and hop aromas. Flavors are of very bitter chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, black coffee, hops, and smoke flavors. Its almost like a tug o war between roasted malts and sweet malts. Roasted malts outpowering with bitter tobacco dark like coffee flavors. Medium bodied. Long bitter roasty lingering finish. A bit too bitter for me. Needs more balance. Something is missing. Not bad. Good overall but wouldn’t try again.

Decent imp stout....nice aroma of roasted malt, with coffee and chocolate undertones and a hint of smoked malt. Flavor is quite similar. Overall pretty good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber, courtesy OrlGamecock. Pours a dark mahogany color and topped by a small, foamy tan colored head that leave some spots of lace behind on the glass. The aroma shows note of bitter, dark chocolate, roasted barley, darkly roasted coffee, and fresh earthy hops on the back. The flavor follows showing more dark cocoa, bitter sweet chocolate, roasted barley and coffee. The earthy hops add really nice bitterness and are very fresh, while toasted caramel adds some sweetness to balance things out. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a lengthy roasty and dry finish. This is a nice stout, and I would like to try to the bourbon barrel version some day.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber, 2010 release, from CBX. pours a very dark brown with a thick, creamy, dark khaki head. aroma is great with bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts, mild smoked meat, soil, and earthy hops with a touch of unique, rum-dipped fruits. flavor is damn tasty as well with lots of roasted malts, smoke, and earth up front with slightly sweet, dark fruits, and burnt nuts coming through ahead of a bitter, chocolatey finish with a touch of coffee. palate is just a tad thin for a big impy with solid carbonation and a lovely, lingering finish. overall, a damn nice imperial stout that could use a bit more body. i enjoyed the bourbon barrel version much more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Nate. Pours dark brown, almost black, with moderate dark beige head. Roasty and chocolately nose... smells like it might be a bit on the thin side. Tastes reveals more of the same. Good but just a bit thin. Average.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Got it from the exchange. Black brown non see through with lacy head tan/beige. Aroma is sweet chocolates burnt to a crisp with melon fruit. Kind of reminiscent of darker rum. All sweet and round smelling. Flavor is burnt, smoldering malt chocolate and coffee and dark berry, with syrup feel, and overall just really roasty. Booze is the last thing on your mind with all that roast.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to the TampaCrew for sharing this one. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is earth, bitterness, roast, smoke, and black licorice. Flavor is similar with band-aid, roast, bitterness, smoke, and black licorice. Lingers around with roast and licorice. Not my favorite imperial stout.
