Bottle. Pour is close to black, with some coffee colored edges. Small tan head. Aroma is sticky - roasted malts, charred wood, musty, caramel. Flavor is extremely roasty with some dark fruits and vanilla in the finish. Tastes like an oatmeal stout mixed with a smoked ale, strange.

22 oz bomber. Pours a lighter only black with medium sized dark khaki head. The head fades down to a thin layer, and leaves a spotty lace on the glass. The aroma is got some great pieces to it. Vanilla, some espresso, a hint of chocolate, and a little booziness to go along with it. The vanilla and a roast malt are prominent on the lead of the taste, and then it fades into a bit of the espresso, keeping the roastyness. It finishes a bit dry, and a touch thin, but overall, it's a very solid beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99. Pours a dark brown to black color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, earthy, char, dark fruit, larger hop character which mostly works, and some smoke. Not as big as I expected, falls off just a touch at the finish.

Bottle - Roasted malts, very nutty, slight anise and milk chocolate. Jet black with almost no head. Nutty, roasted malts, booze and some dark fruit. Thick mouthfeel and no significant bitterness, but lots of boozy heat. Like it a lot. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle share with xdtfx. Pours almost total black with minimal head. Nice carbonation. Coffee bourbon roasted malts and some hops deliver a delicious flavor. The alcohol shows up much more as it warms. A delicious brew to be sure.

Bomber from the brewery bottled 012512. Pours a near pitch black color with not much of a head. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, soy, hops. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, bitter chocolate, caramel, espresso, faint hops. Medium-full bodied, chewy. Exceptional.

122111 bottle thanks to billschmeinke. Pours with a inky consistency, black hue, tan head, rich chocolate, marshmallow, iodine, licorice, campfire, dates, deep caramel and toasted malt. Milk chocolate. Flavors are aged. Soil, licorice, nutty, iodine, chocolate. Ashy, brown sugar, marshmallow, quite sweet, campfire. Fading, ashy, meh. Medium-low carbonation, rich body. Kind of faded.

Westmeister (1806) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2013
2011 Bottle. Super thick black wax showed a rusty cap underneath. Uh oh. Pours ink black with quickly fading medium beige head. Smell is thick tarry malts, chocolate, sugary residue , hints of dark fruits. Taste is a very mellowed out chocolate, coffee, spot on sweetness, a bit of char, some anise. Really just a smooth finish. Finishes medium to full, medium sweet with the creamy residual mouthfeel. Not overly complex but quite nice.

Draft at Brewvival. Almost totally black, brown head. Aroma of burnt espresso and bitter cocoa. Taste is coffee grounds and dark chocolate on toast. Tasty.
