Walking a fine line of sweet malt and assertive hop character. A hop presence so enticing it truly is a work of art. Ingredients: two-row*, Munich* & caramel 20* malts, pacific gems* , centennial & cascades hops, ale yeast and tripled filtered water. *organic

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2011 Drinking HopArt is akin to chewing on a fresh cascade hop. The hops concentrated into this single IPA are deliriously potent, with a smooth malt backing that keeps things from reaching Ruination-like levels of bitterness. HopArt is a dry, piney, gorgeous pint of beer, and it keeps us Charlestonians satisfied while we wait for the next batch of COAST’s nigh-perfect DIPA, Boy King.

Big amber pour, chunky fluffy head. Nice citrusy piney nose...taste was the same, but a nice sweeter maltiness that is sometimes missed in our beloved west coast ipa’s. This was way to drinkable, almost finished it without enjoying it. Overall, i have had a ton of the east coast ipa’s but this is up there with the best, and pretty close in my top 10 for all IPA’s.big thanks on this, need more.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2016 Perfect color for an IPA- really solid beer. Not quite excellent- really good, almost too simple. A solid IPA. Can’t decide what it is missing to make it excellent. Would definitely have again- available in growlers at Mt. Pleasant Whole Foods for 12$ Can at Xiao Bao. Still good- Edmunds Oast calls it "arguably the flagship IPA of Charleston". Dank and malty and slick mouthfeel. Bitter at the end. Lives up to style unapologetically. Respect.

22 oz bottle fr Charleston Beer Exchange. Huge hop aroma with notes of dishsoap. Very cloudy in the glass with noticeable chunks (bottle 2 weeks old). Body a little thin. Reminded me of a weaker version of Stone Ruination with aggressive, not floral, hops (nugget & simcoe). Lots of grapefruit but not much of the malt as promised on the label. Plenty hoppy but struck me as a one note beer. Certainly not bad but I was hoping for more.

Pours a cloudy yellow-amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is really nice with citrus and pine notes. The hops are not as prominent in the taste as I expected but it is still really nice.

Bomber at the 5th Annual Epic Beer Tasting in Richmond, VA, November 28, 2010. Pours a pale amber color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and resiny hops with some earthy notes. The taste is earthy, citrus and leafy hops with some toffee. Medium bodied.

Aroma:Sweet, malty, grapefruit, apricot. Smells really good. Appearance:Slighty hazy, gold in color. Great white head. Taste:Sweet malt flavor, mild hoppiness. Hops are citrus, apricot. Aftertaste has a lingering bitterness Palate:Medium body, low carbonation. A little creamy. No astringency. Overall:This one is an easily sessionable IPA. It doesn’t have hugely unique flavors, but it’s quite pleasant.

Picked up a half gallon from CBX, enjoyed before the Phish show on Saturday. Pour was orange and murky, the first pour from the growler left a decent white head, glass was ridden with lace after a few sips. Aroma was full of hop goodness, big citrus notes with some resiny pine. A rather large bitterness was woven all the way through this thing. Nice citrusy hop flavors rounded out the bitterness, smooth stuff. This stuff is worthy of the esteem, its great.
