3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a hzy deep amber color with a medium off white head. The aroma is citrus fruits; both the juice and some ground peel, floral, with a moderate caramel malt sweetness. The flavor is mildly sweet bready caramel malts combined with citrus and tropical fruit hops with a touch of pine. The level of bitterness works well for this beer. Mouthfeel is on the high side of medium. This is a solid drinking IPA.
Rating #60 for this beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
bomber. Intensely hopped and the perfect amount of heat. Citrus profiles abound and the palate can be down right sticky. An all-time favorite that needs to be on more taps around SC. Bottled on 05.31.10 fresh!

5/06/2010: Coast HopArt India Pale Ale... Aroma: Strong perfume. Appearance: Messy appearance; tarnished gold; cloudy opaqueness; sediment; off-white head of small bubbles; good lacing. Flavor: Chewy malt base topped with hops (citrus, lots of floral qualities, perfume); a bit alcohol; a welcomed high level of bitterness. Palate: Medium to medium-full. Overall: Good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear copper color with an average off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and lively carbonation. Moderate to heavy bitter hop flavor with a moderate to heavy smooth bitter finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a Spaten Mug. The brew poured golden amber with a one finger white head. The aroma of this brew was overwhelmed by hops and was difficult to pick up any other aromas. The taste was pretty bitter as would be expected with an IPA, with a potently crisp bitter aftertaste upon swallowing. It had a medium body with moderate carbonation. There was slight lacing throughout. Overall this was a nice bitter and crisp IPA, but not one of my favorites as the flavor of the hops were a little overwhelming and probably masked quite a few of the other flavors. While I say this, it is still worth a try for an IPA-lover as you will most likely appreciate the crisp bitter aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Dunt on BA at DLD.
Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a nicely formed white head.
Aroma is very nice and hoppy. Citrusy and piney with some sweet malt to balance.
Flavor is sort of like a less intense version of Boy King DIPA. Sweet pale and caramel malts along with citrus, pine, and resinous hops.
Medium-bodied with a nice hoppy oiliness on the palate. Somewhat lively mouthfeel.
A very solid IPA overall. COAST is legit it seems. Good to see some good beer coming out of the South.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at nimbleprop DC tasting, 6 March 2010. A new brewery for me, something I invariably look forward to, but this didn’t really hit the spot for me. Plenty of hops to be sure. The hops are distinctly bitter, rather than aromatic, and I didn’t pick up a lot of malt backbone so it was a bit too close to hop juice / tea for my taste. Not bad but not really my thing.
