3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ross (1943) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - OCT 1, 2012On tap at Grapevine. Orange colored pour with a white head. Huge hop aroma with citrus, pine, grapefruit, orange and even lemon. Taste is smooth and easy drinking, light carbonation, fairly bitter. Good beer, but nothing stands out as impressive. Probably goes bad pretty quick; apparently this keg was 6 days old. Id recommend as fresh as possible.

Orange color out of the bottle with a thin off white head and a light floral nose. Some caramel sweetness balanced with some floral and earthy hops. It feels more like an English IPA.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy orange with a bubbly white head. Feint citrus hop aroma. Flavors of citrus. Quite muted hops for an IPA, but smooth and tasty. Sessionable.

22 oz. bottle served in Solemn Oath snifter. Bottled 2/27/13. Thanks to rnorgart for the bottle!
A: Pours a murky dark orange color with a yellowish head forming on the pour. it recedes to thick ring with some sticky sheets of lace left down the glass.
S: Bready malts with some earthy hop spice. A little dried grass with some mild citrus peel.
T: There are a ton of flavors going on in this one. There’s a dark bread spiciness with some herbal hops. Very earthy in nature. White bread sweetness from malts as well with a light piney bitterness. Light lemon zest with a little orange pith as well.
M: Medium bodied with a little heft to it. Moderate chew, but easy drinking with a medium soft carbonation. Slight bitterness to the finish without too much drying.
O: Definitely more of an English style IPA in my opinion, but pretty balanced between the earthy and spicy hops and sweet bread malts.

On tap at Poe's on Sullivan's island. Good IPA, poured a hazy orange. Nice hop flavor with a nice malt balance. It's not an over the top IPA, but an excellent IPA none the less.

A: Very fruity. Floral. Hops come through. Balanced
A: Pours a hazy orange color. Head is moderate size but the bubbles cascade through the beer as if it were a nitro tap. Pretty nice.
T: As with the smell, a big citrus note to start. Hops cut through sharply and the finish is smooth. Alcohol is a nice compliment.
P: Very nice. Medium/heavy body. Carbonation is on the money and smooth. The bitterness is a bit aggressive on the palate.
Overall a very nice IPA, and more of what I would expect from COAST. A solid citrus note sets this one apart. Otherwise nice on the palate, and the heavy mouthfeel helps subdue the alcohol. Very nice.
