rmussman (905), California, USA Mar 3, 2007 My first Saison. Very nice. Rich flavor. After taste is a little acidic tasting but still nice. For Farmhouse this is a nice beer of theirs but I would recommend a different type haggis03a3 (132), Piedmont, California, USA Jan 28, 2007 On tap. A little bit cloudy gold color with a diminishing white head. This is one of my first of the style and I kept thinking it tasted like a farmhouse. Kind of a wild flavor of hay, yeast, some fruitiness and a bit sour. I enjoyed it. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 6, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy orange body with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of orange peel, clove, banana, mustiness, lemon, and dustiness. Flavor of lemon, banana, malt, and wheat. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 3, 2006 Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of coriander, apple, pear and yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, yeast, light fruitiness and a hint of spice with a crisp dry finish. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Sep 28, 2006 22 ounce bottle purchased at the Arden Way BevMo in Sacramento. The label says this is brewed by Farmhouse Brewing Company in Gilroy, CA. I’m not sure if that is Coast Range or not. Musty, banana, yeasty easter aroma with some mild spicy pepperiness. Lightly metallic aroma. Smells like a saison to me. Body is moderately hazy, dark golden, with a medium white head that has fair staying power. Sweet, candy-like to start, turning rather astringent and a bit sour later on. Sticky malts follow this weird astringency. Kind of light later on. This is pretty funky, but you can definitely tell that this is an American version. Eh, ok. jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA Sep 23, 2006 Bottle. Average Saison. Heavy on the spice. Don’t really like the style. Average beer. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Sep 14, 2006 Bottle, with ClarkVV and Sully. My notes make this sound like more of a wheat beer. I got notes of banana esters, and some subtle soapy clovey characters, quite citric. Quite a detergenty fizz and sweetness in here aswell. Not bad, but it lacked something, and is outclassed by the better Belgian examples of the style. Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan Sep 13, 2006 Hazy orange body with a fluffy white head that settled into a fringe. Wheat, grassy herbal hops, a little anise, licorish, caramel, and mellon in the nose. Much ofthe same in the flavor with a medium firm mouthfeel. A touch of grassy bitterness rounds this out finishing with wheat and a little lemon.
