4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 cdizinno (6) - Gastonia, USA - JUN 13, 2010 does not count
Presentation: Poured from a growler, purchased at Green’s on Piney Grove in Columbia, SC, into a tulip glass.
A: Nice hazy, orange-straw color. Off-white head that slowly fades with mild lacing.
S: Mild yeast, sweetness, fruits, bubblegum, all rolled into one.
T&M: Mildly complex. Fruits(citrus), some sweet yeast and malt. Ever so mild peppery spice. Flavorful bitter hops carry through this medium-bodied ale. Semi-dry, bitter finish.
Very drinkable beer. Quality once again from the folks on the COAST. How do these Southerners know how to make a Belgian better than most Beligians? Hats off to these folks who have to earn my highest average of a single brewer in the broadest range of styles tasted!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 mixmasterob (678) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - SEP 17, 2011
Growler from Growlers on Hilton Head Island. Hazy golden pour with a small white head. Aroma was Light Belgian yeast characteristics with a decent hoppy nose. Flavors were a not yeasty with a nice hop presence that stood out. Mouth was light yet satisfying, nice carbonation. Very nice and drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GodOfThunder (1218) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 4, 2010
Growler, thanks to OrlGamecock’s friend at Redlight. Pours a clear golden color, almost too clear. Aroma has a slight skunkiness to it, but it isn’t offending. Mostly nobels hops and grasses going on. Flavor is more of the same, not too strong on the nobel hops, but you know they’re there. Nice and light and crisp. Decent brew.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 slang (622) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - MAY 28, 2010
growler. Slightly golden & hazy pale with bland lack-luster "bottle appeal". Taste is a kick of Belgie yeast and tongue-tingling hops. Slight lite fruit linger. Coast didn’t lie w/ the Witte & Saison comparison; &, really, that’s where this beer exists... somewhere between the two, fucked up on hops. It does manage to find a, hard to achieve, balance of drinkability and complexity. A nice SC summer brew.
