COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tybee Island Blonde is a Kölsch style ale. It is a clean, crisp, session beer brewed with noble hops. The Blonde has a light floral aroma and a mild hop bitterness. The agreeable nature of this German style ale means that it will get along well with many foods, but you have to pick a dish that won’t overwhelm it. Being that we are on the coast, we suggest you start by pairing it with some seafood!

Shared by brew3crew. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced malt and floral hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

End part of a 12oz bottle, shared by the group. Mildly hazy golden color. Minimal white head and lace. Nice floral hop in the nose. Little orange zest. Light to medium body. Light carbonation. Zesty sweet taste. Pretty good golden. Definitely better than expected, especially for a can that’s been sitting around open for a bit, which I got the end part of.

Shared by brew3crew. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma had some floral hops, light citrus, grass, and a larger toasted malt component than I would expect. The flavor has some citrus, grass and toasted bready malt. Light body.

Can. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers), with a light note of soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A simple, somewhat roughly malted example. Watery and thin, with a disappearing head. Drinkable, but little more.

Bottle to taster from notes (shared by brew3crew). Looks good; a semi-transparent blondish-orange with thin white lacing. Smells and tastes doughy with some floral hop notes. Good on the palate with a little snap too. Solid for the style.

Savannah, Ga - Piggly Wiggly - 12 oz can. Pours a hazy dark golden with a pillowy snow white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Aroma has a hint of mineral water, light floral notes. Flavor has a bit of a light fruity tone to it with hints of apricots. some light buttery notes make up the back end with a light hint of white grapes. Somewhat refreshing. Thick enough mouthfeel.

Slightly funky grain aroma, with just a little hint at some sweet spiciness. Jimmy-Buffett-esque can. Tinged straw color, very clear, not much head. Lightly malty, a light straw-husky bittering. Medium body. Hay-bitter aftertaste clings a bit. I would only have this again if it was free. And cold. Habersham Beverage Warehouse, Abercorn, Savannah.

12 ounce can - $2.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a light yellow-hued body, ever so slightly hazed, with a small, powder white head.

Smell: Sweetened lemon peel, scant crackery maltiness and a pinch of peppery dried herb.

Taste: Mild malt flavors of soda crackers and puffed grains preclude some sweetish lemon, some mealy-toned husk accents and a herbal, lightly spicy hop character. Lightly bitter. Flavors follow through the crispish, semi-dry finish, though, there’s more of that sweet lemon popping up in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Satisfactory.

12oz can. Clear, gold color. White froth. Aroma of corn meal, pale grains, straw/hay. Crisp taste. Flavor of straw, pale malts, earthy hay-like bitterness. A very nice blonde. Very refreshing. Medium bodied. Another superb beer from Coastal Empire. (3977)
