3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, - MAY 6, 2010
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’10. Gold with white head. Had this whilst working at the gate and I was a touch disappointed. Probably the quickest selling beer on the first night it was a little thin and sweet for me. I was looking for lots of citrusy hop and it didn’t deliver sadly. Light and a little underwhelming.

Cask-conditioned at the Robin Hood, Bristol 18/02/2012. Amber with a slight white head. As other have noted, hops were not evident here. Sulphury aroma with a touch of fruit. Flavour of sweetish malts, with a yeasty, stoned fruits edge and bitter finish. Ok.

On cask at Bar Fringe. Pours a blonde colour with a thin white head. Aroma of apple, pineapple, yeast and caramel. Yeast flavour is quite prominent with caramel and biscuity malt and a dry finish. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. A light golden beer with a white head and lace. Not a hop monster at all. Little by way of aroma; just a touch of fart. Yeasty in the mouth with a tiny lemony bite. Ordinary. The second beer called Hop Monster I’ve drank in four days. The one brewed by The Brew Company was far far better.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Unclear golden colour, white head. Aroma is slight malted, a bit of ash. Flavour is malted, ash, little hoppy. Fairly bitter and dry, but not really a hop monster. Enjoyable anyway.
