This 0 percent beer makes me glad I live in Spain. It’s nasty, weird-smelling stuff, way too carbonated, and generally unpleasant.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2006 Very cereally beer, very much like Kaliber but smoother and with less flavour if you can call it that. 4/4/06 Bottle from Asda, much nicer beer, but still corny. However its easier to drink and much nicer.

Authentic pissy pale gold pour with a fluffy white head. Sniffs of straw and cold baked beans. Notes of wheat, lemon, baked beans, chemical sweetener. An authentic Cobra product. Retains its head better than most of the bottle conditioned beers I’ve sampled this week. Weirdly drinkable.

Bottle at Chris/Tamsin house in Herne Hill, London. I must say that this is one of the best non-alc beers that I’ve had. Has a quite corny taste. But not the flat, cardboard malt I’m used to. Thumbs up.

sampled this at Ratanga Junction Theme Park in Cape Town... Now this is a good idea, an alcohol free beer in a hot theme park when the temp is about 100, thats when NA can be great.. Pours with some head, smell is neutral, taste is refreshing but overall lacking in most departments...

Appearance: Light golden, clear. Good amount of white head. Aroma: Grains and sweet. Not typical lager. Artificial. Taste: Quite sweet, and corn again. Best low-alcohol so far. Info: 330ml bottle, 10/7-2008

The bottle reads "Krait Free". Fizzy and with a light herbal touch. I initially didn’t realize that this was merely the alcohol free version of Cobra beer. In fact, my bottle said it was brewed in the Netherlands, not at Charles Wells, but Google has convinced me that Krait and Cobra are the same.<!-- br --><!-- br --> The flavor was of light grains and mostly water, frankly.

It’s always a laugh to try one of these N/A beers. I am yet to find a single person who has arrived for a Sunday roast clutching a six-pack of these. Remarkably this wasn’t too bad, though appearance wise it was a let down. Pours a dull gold, suffering from a bad case of chill haze and almost devoid in carbonation resulting in only a dollop of cream dead centre of the glass. There’s a light bite of sour apples and grassy hops in the aroma which quickly fades into wet-cardboard and wholemeal muesli. In the mouth; biscuity, ’ginger-snaps’ and dryish breakfast cereal flavours slip through to a tangy, peppery back end with just a touch of bitter, grassy hops before falling off crisp and peppery in the finish. Champagne-like carbonation tickled the tongue and it’s featherweight body allowed me to polish it off quickly and move onto something with a little more alcohol. Dram of whisky, perhaps. Not bad for it’s style!!! (33cL, BBE 04/06)

330 ml bottle. Light golden colour. Small white head. Rounded, but strong, grainy malt aroma. Some hops, but they are very clean. Medium-bodied, but the aftertaste is dry and rather thin. Papery. Does not really taste much. It is the grainy and papery flavours that stand out. There is also something else, not sweet, that makes up the body. Powdery malts in the finish.

Medium white fine-laced head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Medicinal cardboard aroma with caramelly, rubbery notes. Dry yet sweetish chalky milky rubbery taste with strong cardboard notes. Soft mouthfeel. Dry medicinal cardboard aftertaste. I prefer water. (0.33l bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger.)
