COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Goose This carefully crafted beer is a light, malty tasting, premium lager. Brewed at low temperatures, this contributes to 'The Goose’s' clean smoothness. The malt character comes from the use of German Pilsener malt with a small amount of Crystal malt to add a golden colour. The subtle hop aroma and flavour comes from the careful use of Tettnang and Hallertau ‘noble’ hops. This is our most popular beer. 4.4% Alc/Vol O.G. 1045

Draught at Newmarket c/b Clear light yellow with meduim head. Aroma of floral saaz like hop backed with sweetish malt. Strong floral hop flavour with meduim bitterness and mild malt background. Overall a good lager, less hop flavour and more bitterness be better for the balance.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2008 Draught (on a couple of occassions), a bright gold with a thick white head. An earthy malt aroma, lemony, a little mettalic. Earthy malt, somewhat soapy, though the palate is close to being crisp and clean. I don’t really enjoy this.

Draught at Cock & Bull, Auckland. Pale golden with minimal head. Medium dry with crisp grainy malt character. A fair amount of spicy hops adds flavour and some bitterness. Well made lager!

Bottled: Pours a bright light gold with a medium sized fairly dense head. Exibits a high degree of carbonation. Grassy hops with some malt presence in the nose. Tastes crisp and clean with some malt presence in a fairly thin body. There is a grassy hop presence with a mid-range IBU finish. Not bad, I’d drink it regularly. Thanks Beer Legend.

Sometimes cleaning your draws at work can be a very positive thing. Like when you find the notes you took when you had a few beers with Beerledgend at the Cock and Bull pub. This was the first of a few tried and for a pale lager is not too bad. Good looking in the glass with a firm head and a pleasant if unassertive nose. There is a faint hoppiness which is balanced by a mild malt presence. Overall a technically good beer without being outstanding.

Tasted 20/03/2005. 1.5L prefilled flagon from Regional Wines and Spirits. Similar clear, bright, golden colour; thin white head; light mouthfeel; grainy flavour; and grassy aromatic profile to the Xmas Pilser but not quite as hoppy on the back of the tongue. Palate also not so clean. Nice soft carbonation.

Clear pale straw colour with no head, leaves good lacing in the glass though. Typical English style lager with big hoppy aroma and mild bitterness. Is very refreshing and went well with the beef curry.
