Aroma is chocolate,munich with some esters.Appearance dark brown with a hint of red,medium head.Clarity good with meduim carbonation. Flavour is chocolate,munich with a warming alcohol background. Overall a good d/bock but with to much chocolate malt and is almost ale in fermentation profile. Could be slightly less sweet as well. Well brewed.

A sample tasted at the Malthouse, but no more. Though the malt was little pungent and papery. Maybe I should have given it a decent go, but it didn’t have enough there to entice me.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2008 Not a bad drop, little thin and one dimensional with none of the pepperyness that i like from this style. Good malt presence but lacks a lagered cleaness. not much wrong with it but just lacks an X factor for me.
