Commercial Description: Brewed by the Trappists Monks since the 1600's this beer style is a rich, malty complex beer with a wide range of flavors ranging from strong plum to raisin. An obscure deep golden color combined with the rich flavor will surely transport the drinker onto a cloying odyssey.
Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of spice and dry hops with some sweet underlying malt. Tastes sweet with some underlying spiciness. Mouthfeel is a little on the thin side for the style. Overall, a decent attempt.
