COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our clean and crisp Golden with a very subtle hint of watermelon. Garnished with a wedge of fresh watermelon it makes for a very refreshing summer beer. It's also great mixed with the Wood Chuck Cider, ask for a watermelon Snake Bite.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of watermelon and nothing else. The taste is watermelon, pale malts and faint bitterness. Thin-medium bodied.

On draught at the brewpub. Arrived to the table a lightly hazed gold with a film for a head that left spotty lace. Mild aroma of watermelon and malt. The watermelon is more prevalent in the flavor along with some bready malt. Light bitterness at the finish. Nice summer refresher.

A first for me. Golden ale with lots of bubbles. Small white ring head. Smells like straight watermelon and tastes like watermelon candy and cream. The palate and finish are confusingly creamy and harsh at the same time.

Served with a tiny watermelon slice (it was actually pretty pathetic). Pours a clear golden color. Aroma is of sweeter malts and watermelon. Flavor is of watermelon and wheat. Kind of carbonated. Not too bad.

(Rating #3168)

My Bottom Line:
This novelty ale tries to balance bold watermelon flavors to their crisp Golden Ale’s base malts, but the mix is unsettling and not refreshing.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the pale yellow, soon killed by the imposed watermelon wedge decorating it.
-There is not much happening in the nose, apart from the watermelon of course.
-Watermelon flavors and pale malts don’t agree in my palate.
-The watermelon was quite sweet too in the flavor profile, which got tiring very quickly.

On tap at the brewpub.

Part of a 7 beer, 7oz each sampler. For some reason I seemed to have a better experience than most of the other reviewers who have visited this place. I found that all the beers I sampled were very well done and true to their styles. None of them were exceptional but, even in the styles that I don’t usually go for I found them to be pretty good. The watermelon ale is good for what it is though I’m not really that into that kind of thing.
