COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North Shore Amber Ale was the Original beer of Cody Brewing Company. It has a smooth caramel and nutty maltiness with the perfect balance of Northern Brewer and Amarillo hops. Amber is just one of those beers you canʼt get enough of and you will find yourself filling you glass over and over again.

22 oz. bottle. Label reads that it was brewed by Mercury Brewing for Cody. Pours a mostly clear brown with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left ample lace. Mild aroma of malt and a bit of caramel. As the beers warms a bit of orange emerges in the aroma. The flavor is mild malt with some equally restrained caramel. Moderate bitterness at the finish which lingers for about fifteen seconds beyond the swallow and is a bit acerbic. Medium bodied.

Saw this on the shelf for the first time tonight and couldn’t resist taking it home with me. Odd label which is generic in nature with the name of the beer (Amber Ale) and the batch number (1) written on it in red marker. Price was right at 4.99. Pours a really clear red amber color with a medium sized tightly bubbled white head that dissipate quickly to a thin cap on top. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, and raisins mixed with earthy floral hops. Nicely balanced aroma on this beer. Taste is sweet and malty with an earthy hop edge that barely keeps this from being cloying. Lots of caramel and darker sugars, melanoids, raisins and prunes. The hops take over and leave their earthy/resinous bitterness in a long lingering finish. Sweet sticky mouthfeel, medium body and level of carbonation. Clean crisp refreshing brew. Maybe a little sweet but certainly nothing objectionable here.
