Pours a three-finger cream head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is hops, flavor is Belgian yeast, hops and caramel. Dry, bitter finish. Different, not an IPA and not a pale. Batch #4, $4.99 for a 22oz bottle from Kappy’s Fine Wine & Spirits Peabody, Ma.

(22 oz from Oak Street Provisions) Pours hazy orange-amber. Three fingers of lightly amberish off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and lighter citrus/fruit and floral hoppiness over light caramel and vanilla. Mouthfeel smooth and light. Flavor of Belgian yeast with medium-strong bitterness overlaying. There’s IPA characteristics underneath with fruity/floral notes over caramel and vanilla but the Belgian-ness predominates. Medium-strong bitter bite in finish and lingering bitter aftertaste.

A - Pours a cloudy amber-orange color with a finger of creamy white head. The head fades fairly quickly to a ring with some nice lacing. S - Aroma is full of fruity/citrus hops with some nice lemon peel and orange mixed together with just a touch of grassy notes. There is also some belgian yeast aroma coming out and a touch of spices, most notably coriander. T - Starts off with some nice citrus hop flavor mixed with some of the belgian yeast in the background and a touch of coriander. The hops and spices really come through in the middle with the yeast also getting some attention. The finish is a mix of the nice fresh hop taste with some bitterness and the spices (coriander). M - Medium-light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Just a tad dry at the finish which is nice. Smooth and just a touch creamy. D - Very drinkable. The hops and spices are nicely blended all the way through and the Belgian yeast flavor is really nice and blends well. Very nice hop profile.
