Bottle. Not a typical american brown ale. No nuttiness. Not much in the way of hops. Tasted like an early onset of some kind of infection (faint balsamic, touch medicinal). Against some old vegetal toffee dough. Not very good. Maybe an off bottle but not sure.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bbbeer (417) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Brown color with medium tan head. Aroma is not bad, some roasted malts and brown sugar. Light body. Flavor is unobjectionable but not too distinctive, lightly roasted malt with faint spice background. Easy to drink and not bad really but flavors are kind of weak.

2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Beerathon (635) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 14, 2012
Brown with fleks of red. Cream colored head that was huge and fluffy, thought I could sleep on it. Taste is a bit nutty. Decent maltiness. The aroma was a bit offputting- metalic?
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bmerz (490) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 9, 2012
22 Oz. clear brown with ok tan head. thin earthy malt and spice aromas. Flavor us earth, toffee, and cocoa powder south a spicy moderately bitter and lactic finish. The mouthfeel is light soft and bubbly but finishes quite tannic. good and drinkable. wouldn’t seek out again. A lingering spiciness isn’t super pleasant.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a thin-moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and a bit of nuts. The flavor is similar with malt and just a bit of nuts. Perhaps a touch of caramel too. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. Nice problem-free beer that is easy to drink.
