Fermented for an extended period, this premium lager features an aromatic sweetness in its amber tones. With the combination of high quality malts, roasted sweet potatoes and beer craftmanship, this beer is unique to the Bushu area, featuring Kawagoe’s famous produce, Kintoki sweet potatoes. Take the time to full enjoy its flavors and the slightly elevated alcohol content. Called "Beniaka" Meaning Crimson Red, in honor of the colors of the sweet potatoes which helped produce it.

Bottle from Asahiya, 7% - Coedo’s sweet potato beer. It pours a rich caramel brown with a thick fluffy off-white head. The aroma is sweet, I am getting a sugary canned peach or fruit, fruity with an underlying malt profile of light toffee. The medium body is smooth with a light syrupy quality to it. The taste is sweet, maple sugar, light toffee/molasses, a bit of booziness & heat. It really reminds me of a decent Belgian dubbel. Pretty good but I was expecting more sweet potato, I guess I might be getting a bit of that in the body...

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein kastanien-rotes Bier mit geringem Schaum. Aroma würzig, süß, etwas eigenartig. Geschmack malzig fruchtig, fremdartige Gewürze. Mittelmäßgies Bier!

Can from Lucky supermarket in Hirakata. Sweetish nose, with light berries, red wine, and spice. Copper/red color. Rich fruity initial / balances with the hopping, and a bit of alc. emerges / finishes with little bursts of fruit. Interesting flavors. Wonder how much the sweet potato contributes. Didn’t expect so much sweet fruit from this..

Mahogany in color. Tan head, moderate lacing. Big malt aroma and taste all the way. Warm and inviting, bigger body than most lagers.

Caramel cherry nose. Caramel malt, sweet potato, sweet sour finish. Interesting job for an original fruity ale with a local twist.

This beer pours a slightly hazy reddish-amber color with a medium foamy white head that dissipates slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, pumpkin and grain. The finish is sweet with a bready malt and spice aftertaste. Average overall.
