Fermented for an extended period, this premium lager features an aromatic sweetness in its amber tones. With the combination of high quality malts, roasted sweet potatoes and beer craftmanship, this beer is unique to the Bushu area, featuring Kawagoe’s famous produce, Kintoki sweet potatoes. Take the time to full enjoy its flavors and the slightly elevated alcohol content. Called "Beniaka" Meaning Crimson Red, in honor of the colors of the sweet potatoes which helped produce it.
Ingredients: Malt, Hops, Barley and Sweet Potato.

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke. We had this together via facebook chat. This one went pretty quickly. The beer was clear and deep red brown. A smallish off white head. This beer was rich in malt with light spices and the sweet potatoes. It resembled an Oktoberfest and a pumpkin ale. The spices were light but flavors were not far off. Not a bad beer at all from Japan.

Shared with Strykzone via Facebook chat. Pours a clear dark red-copper with a quick fading beige head. Nose is malty hint of hop. Body is medium and mouthfeel smooth. Flavor is malty and somewhat sweet. Drinkable and tasty.

Tap at Ibrew Ginza. Rich red/dark amber colour. Small golden head. Aroma sweet and bit spicy. Taste is sweet and fruity. Dark fruit, plums? Sugary and a touch vinous. Bit of cinnamon and some vegetable, the sweet potatoes, I guess. Not bad.

333ml bottle. Lovely red colour. Nice malt aromas and taste. Can't really get the sweet potato taste, but intrigued by the idea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Within seconds the head is gone and there’s just a fierce carbonation that makes me wonder whether i’ve cracked open a Coke. I must admit that I was almost scared to drink it on that basis. The nose is pretty full-on, dominated by deep caramel, raisin, bread and something I can only describe as cough medicine - I guess that’s just the overwhelming alcohol. The taste is pretty consistent with the aroma and I can’t help that feel like I’m swigging Benadryl.

Beautiful - lovely dark amber/tawny colour. Very sweet nose - candi sugar, unfermentables, red cordial (!). Full body. A little sweet potato, sugar candy and a barely there finish. A bit lacking, though a nice little aside.

Deep brown with a haziness and a thin off white head. Odd, perhaps tart aroma. A bit malty with a sweetness of toffee, a bit of citrusy tartness, earthy, with a bit of the alcohol content present in the flavor. Different.

Pours reddish amber with a tiny tan coloured head and lively carbonation. Soft sweet malty and alcoholic aroma. Initial Co2 bite followed by an almost creamy body with plenty of crystal malts hints of roast and vegetable and a pleasant bitter finish.

Bottle thanks to drabmuh. Served in a taster glass. Pours an orange-copper color with a tiny head of bubbles that falls quickly. The nose has some sweet potato and a touch of caramel. Flavor starts off with caramel, sweet potato, and bread, but then is taken over by a strange off dryness. Very odd. Body is light and off kilter. Not a big fan.
