COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented for an extended period, this premium lager features an aromatic sweetness in its amber tones. With the combination of high quality malts, roasted sweet potatoes and beer craftmanship, this beer is unique to the Bushu area, featuring Kawagoe’s famous produce, Kintoki sweet potatoes. Take the time to full enjoy its flavors and the slightly elevated alcohol content. Called "Beniaka" Meaning Crimson Red, in honor of the colors of the sweet potatoes which helped produce it. Ingredients: Malt, Hops, Barley and Sweet Potato

Not sure why this is labeled as a "Premium Lager" on the label; seeing as this is no mere lager...this is a Premium beer however. Dark and malty and rich with a buttery smoothness and a caramel taste. Really bold and refreshing and round. More like an Alt. Highly enjoyable.

A strong amber lager with sweet potatoes as well as unmalted barley. A rich, rounded, sweet aroma of malt. Roasted amber malt flavor, balanced mostly by the alcohol. Quite sweet, chewy, and interesting. Well balanced, nice beer.

Bottle from sushi taro in dc. Pours amber with a touch of head. Nose is sweet with a bit of a sweet potatoe vibe. Taste is quite sweet and clearly heavily sweet potato, nice overall with a little too sweet.

Deep amber/orange in color with a rocky tan beige head. One of the best looking "premium Lagers" I’ve had, actually. Malty, light earth hops, slightly sweet, and a bit ’o toastedness. Smooth, medium body with nice carbonation. Light toasted malts, caramel, and earth. A rather enjoyable lager; I’m impressed.

Bottle from the Folsom BevMo. Pours a clear dark ruddy copper/amber with a very transient beige head. Aroma is bready with a little hint of hop. Med + body. Flavor is slightly sweet, rather bready in a different way, and has some lightly spicy hop. Sort of like an amber ale, which is interesting for a lager. Worth a try. Might go well with food.

Bottle. Brown beer with a tan head. Toffee and malt aroma. Caramel and toffee flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel and toffee lingers.

Medium yellowish beige head. Beautiful deep amber body. Sweetish earthy malty aroma with notes of candy, soy sauce, and water. Deep sweet earthy malty taste with caramel notes. Clean, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Traces of syrup. Full-bodied. Dryish-sweet wooden earthy malty aftertaste with roasty alcoholic notes. Some alcohol heat. Very nice. (0.33l bottle from Naito-san.)

330ml bottle poured amber in color with a small white head which left a thin lacing on the glass. Mild grains and hops in the aroma. Taste is light malty sweetness with a mild hoppy bitterness. Medium body and light carbonation leave an average mouthfeel. This is a very nice premium lager brew with a bit of a different flavor profile to it, probably due to the addition of the sweet potatoes.
