COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The feature of this non-filtered wheat beer is it's bright, smooth, slightly cloudy appearance. Through the use of wheat malt and specially chosen yeasts, this refreshing brew with fruity overtones, boasts a full bodied, yet smooth texture, which glides easily down the throat. With its distinctly individual flavor and smooth elegance, it has been named "shiro," meaning white.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that completely disappeared after 5 seconds. Low carbonation. Aroma of banana and sweet malts. Texture is a little thick but velvety. Delicious beer, but I like it to have at least a little bit of head. Oishii, ne?

Bottle bought in Kimuraya Supermarket, Kagurazaka. Pours cloudy urine yellow, big foaming white head. Nose is strong yeasty banana esters, lots of clove, creaminess. Taste is yeasty banana, lemon and orange, clove and a little bit of hop bitter. Mouthful is light and body is a touch watery, which shows in the lacing. Light on the palate.

330ml bottle pours golden in color with some floaties and a small white head and very little lacing. Aroma is grainy with some hops. Taste is light malty sweetness with a mild hoppy bitterness in the finish. A very enjoyable wheat beer with nice carbonation and light to medium body and a pleasing tickle on the palate.

12oz bottle in a weizen glass. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of wheat, light malts, some banana notes, and floral hops. Flavor the same. Sort of light. A decent beer.

Bottle from the Co-op in Davis, CA. Pours darkish hazy goldwith a bubbly white head. Aroma is definitely banana ester. Near medium body. Fairly flat. Flavor is banana ester with some yeast/spice. Could be orange, could be clove. No doubt it’s a hefe.

Bottle. Very hazy bright hay yellow with a fizzy white head that doesn’t last long. Banana is big in the aroma, with some wheatiness, and light vanilla as well. Tastes quite fruity, banana, very slight citrus, and finishes a bit sweet/sour. Lighter to medium body with fizzy carbonation.

11.25 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-op. The aroma on this has the requisite banana and clove aromas, but something seems just off. It’s a little sweet. Perhaps some smelly feet in the nose? Moderately hazy golden body with just a slight brownish hue. Small, quickly dissipating white head. Starts a bit metallic, before the yeasty wheaty flavors come through with hints of banana and clove. Some underlying cereal is also there. Finishes with a bit of an astringent acidity. Some metallic character late. Not too bad.

Bottle. Golden beer with a cream colored head. Malt and light earth aroma with light summer fruit. Malt and light grassy flavor with light earth and backing sweetness. Medium bodied. Sweet malt and light grass lingers with light earthiness.

Poured flat from a 333ml bottle with a light hazy golden color. Has some of the banana and fruity bubblegum flavors that you would expect from the style, but a bit lighter. Tastes like a "cleaner" hefe with muted malt and hops. Where this beer disappoints me is that it tastes less like the banana and hefe yeasty flavors like you expect and has some off flavors from the yeast that makes it taste a little "wild."
