The head is medium, the body red-brown and cloudy. It smells maltaromatic, fruity. The taste is fruity, chestnut, aromatic, balanced. Tasty and interesting 11/11/11/11/-/11

Tap. Creamy/lacing tan head on a cloudy dark chestnut body. Very, very sweet taste, as if not finished fermenting. Caramel base with woody edges and even some smoky wisps. After dries a little bit but that worty sweetness lingers, with an herbal/medicinal tone. Weird.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of spices and herbs with some sweet malts as well. Taste is sweet caramel with those herbal notes. Short finish, nothing special about this one.

I’m not too excited by these recreations of historical beers. This is the usual rather murky cereal stew. Liquid bread, and I’m sure this went on like a storm in Babylon on a Saturday night. Sweet. Dates, malt. I think the discovery of hops was a giant step forwards.

What else would you have after seeing the Ishtar Gate? Looks Babylonian - milkshake muddy, with a separated layer that’s darker, and loose froth (you can’t really call it head). Very sugary nose that’s yeasty, lightly fruity. Crazy - herbal, sweet with honey, dates and tons of herbs (sage, mint), liquorice root...crazy stuff. But after a glass I’ve had enough.
