Dark brown. Sticky, very burnt toffee notes with figs. This has a nice, mellow sugary character with some complex nuances.

Tap. Dark brown with a pretty, lacing tan head - like that of a good oatmeal stout. Surprisingly thin body but with waves of dark chocolate and subtle roast, very faint nuts and even a memory of licorice. Dry with a suggestion of fruit, smooth, and easily the most repeatable of those I’ve had from here.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark, almost pitch black with a small tanned head. Aroma of dark roasted malts. Taste is sweeter than suggested by the aroma, thin and watery mouthfeel, still some sweet caramel, with herbal notes, some mint towards the end.

On tap at teh site in October. Cloudy dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Toffee and caramel aroma with a roasted malt and licorice note. Dry and rich malty flavour with licorice and a fruity touch. Full body.

Coffee, chocolate, bisquits. Some dark rye bread. Cinamon, cloves. On the sweet side, but not sticky.

Malzig-würziger, im Hintergrund aber auch säuerlicher Antrunk. Dunkel malziger Mittelteil, weiter etwas säuerlich, wenig störend. Würziger werdend, auch das Malz wird kräftiger, wenig herb. Es entsteht ein trockenes Mundgefühl. Im Abgang erfährt das Bier einen deutlichen Hopfen-Schub.

draft @ brewpub. Opaque dark brown with stble head. Aroma is dry but malty with nice mineral character. The palat is a bit thin. The flavors are nice. Very balanced and tasty with just enough malt sweetness and touch of licorice, and just enough dryness in the finish.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and slight fruity. Smooth to creamy mouthfeel, again low on carbonation. Roasted malt, caramel, bread and mild overripe fruity flavoured. Ends smooth and slight fruity to lingering malty.

Draught at the brewpub. Color hazy brown with medium head. Aroma coffee, dark bread, caramel. Taste caramel, roasted, coffee.

Tap @ brewpub. Dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is little caramel malts. Flavour is caramel malts, some toastiness and chocolate.
