japewang (42), USA Dec 3, 2006 I’m not an IPA guy...so i’m a bit biased to begin with. Rockford Bay IPA packs a serious punch. I felt like i was sucking on a bag full of pennies. Quite fragrant, great color.

Aroma – Light in the hops nice malt.
Appearance – Dark Amber in color, thin head and clear.
Flavor – Very light in the hops with a Dactyl flavor. The malt had a so so flavor
Palate – OK Mouthfeel, Buttery texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was an infected IPA. The beer had some issues and a lot of Dactyl.
jhanske (18), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 30, 2008 Pint at Steam Plant Grill. I agree with the previous reviewer. I have been enjoying Port Brewing Hop-15 IPA recently. Too bad for the Rockford Bay IPA. There was nothing distinctive about the Rockford Bay IPA. Perhaps an IPA in name only. I was expecting/hopping/hoping(!) for more. jarspag (505), San Diego, California, USA Nov 15, 2007 Draft in Moscow, Idaho. Pretty weak ass IPA. Lacking in just about every way you would want an IPA to taste... def leans closer to a pale ale in all aspects - aroma, flavor, abv. Had a little buttery aspect to it. Thin bodied, highly drinkable, soft, inviting, and very average. Your standard brewpub single IPA. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 11, 2007 Slightly darker golden then a pale lager with a light fluffy head. Nice big citrus hop aroma. Hoppy and bitte upfront and throughout the mouth. Not overly complex but a nice bitter flavour throughout. 5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Nov 9, 2007 Draught @ CDA in Spokane: Dark golden, slight brown hue, moderate foamy head, leaving nice rings of lacing.   Fairly lively too.
Soft hoppy nose, a little graininess and earthy on the nose.   Mild bitterness on the tongue, moreso like a strong Pale Ale.
There appears to be a slight buttery aspect, tiz minor tho.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes with a soft bitterness, slight
astringency, with a little butter mixed in.   Tiz okay, but was hoping for a bit more.
