COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pitch black pour with brown head. Fresh aroma with burnt coffee and liquorice. Taste is pleasantly balanced with coffee and roasted malt. Nice freshness

Dark chocolate in taste and smell. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth a long time. Although some sweetness found in beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Tap. Pitch black color. Massive brown head, stays. Milky, chocolate, sour and alarming funky notes in aroma. Creamy, milky, diacetyl on taste. Gone bad. Would love to try it again when fresh.

Tap (Chmielarnia, Warsaw)
Buttery aroma. Total diacetyl bomb. Whipped butter from a cake mixer. There’s a nice roast, but the butter’s absurd. Most diacetyl-infected beer ever? Shame, as the roast is clearly nice, and there’s a gentle smokiness. Should rerate if possible. I’m blaming this on Chmielarnia, as *every single one* of the beers I had there this trip was very old or off.

Czarne nieprzejrzyste. Piana beżowa, obfita, drobno i średnio bąbelkowa, ładnie się utrzymuje i zostawia przyzwoity lacing. Aromat czekolada gorzka i kwaskowość kawowa, bo tego coś słodkiego jakby odrobina lukrecji. Raczej wytrawne, czekoladowe, konkretnie czekoladowe, kawy odrobina. Wysycenie średnie w stronę wysokiego, goryczka całkiem całkiem, alkohol dobrze zamaskowany.

Piwo butelkowe. Kolor czarna smoła w pełnej krasie, piana beżowa, gęsta i zostaje do ostatniego łyka tworząc pikne firany. W zapachu czuć lekko wędzonką, świeżo zmieloną kawą i czekoladą.

Kjenner einerbærene lurer i bakgrunnen. Smooth indded.

Bottle-330ml. Good stout, little ash, gently burned with pleasant texture. For Imperial very delicate.

Shared 0,5 l bottle at. Cardinal. Pitch black body with a brown small head. Roasted raisin, bourbon notes and roasted malts on the nose. Full bodied, but not stifingly pungent. Mellow, round roasted notes a tad on the acidic side. Pleasant puffed oats finish and bitter roasted notes.

Bottle from O’Briens, Athlone [300514]
Pitch black, big tan head, good lacing
Aroma of deep rich malts, tarry and savoury, coffee roast, hint of soy, yeasty, touch of marmite, complex for the abv
Taste is not as good as the aroma - roasted malts, burnt coffee roast, bit savoury, bitter chocolate, hint of dark fruits, doesn’t match complexity of the aroma
Palate - soft carb, medium body, perhaps a little thin, bitter roast with some sweet dark malt underneath. Finish is dry, far too much bitter burnt roast for me
Overall - Excepted this to be great from the appearance and nose, but the taste and palate didn’t match at all, just too much bitter coffee roast, not a fan of this
