Smells like christmas. The head is quickly disappearing but the color is beautifully red. The taste is sweet but have some delicious sourness in the end. The palate is smooth. This is a really good christmas beer. Perfect with the mandatory figs and dates for christmas.

Fantastic beer. Lots of anis in both the aroma and taste. Nice smooth mouthfeel, slight alcohol sensation (which I love). Truly great beer. Reminds me of a mild version of Gouden Carolus Noël.

Bottle. Pours a deep coppery amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Nose is star anise, caramel, candi sugar, red berries and hints of clove and wet paper in the back. Taste is sweet caramel sauce, burnt sugar, anise, clove, herbs and hints of chocolate in the back. Bitter, burnt-sugar-like finish. Full body, medium carbonation. A quite pleasant Christmas ale, spicy and sweet but not cloying.
