Dark orange coloured body with a slight haze. Moderately aroma of choco-caramel malts together with hints of spices and dried fruits. Mixed flavour of brittle caramel and sweet liquorice. Roasted bitterness towards the ending. Foamy in the mouth. Ok, average Yuletide beer (Tromsø, 26.12.2012).

Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, dark dried fruit, light star anise and light fennel. Flavour is roasted caramel, dark dried fruit, staranise, light alcohol and light fennel.

Smells like christmas. The head is quickly disappearing but the color is beautifully red. The taste is sweet but have some delicious sourness in the end. The palate is smooth. This is a really good christmas beer. Perfect with the mandatory figs and dates for christmas.

Sample from 50 cl. bottle. Clear, amber colour with a golden tint, creamy off-white head. Spicy aroma with star anise, corinader, orange zest and brown sugar. A hearty amount of dark malts. Sweet taste. Medium body, creamy texture. Short, sweet and spicy finish. Definetely a Christmas beer...

Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, salmiak and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light biter with a long salmiak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme 10 Des 12. Gyldenbrun med et høyt luftig skum som varer lenge og fester seg til glasset. Veldig pent! Forsiktig søt fruktaroma. Julekaker? Veldig myk munnfølelse. Innholdsrik smak. Velbalansert og ikke påtrengende. Julekaker. Mandler. Litt tørr syrlighet etter hvert. Avslutter litt bittert. Godt øl! KI=6

Bottle at home. Pours a clear brownish amber colour with a medium off-white head. Aromas of anis, blackberries, camphor and some dried fruit. Lots of anis in the flavour as well with the addition of some alcohol, oak and leather. The mouthfeel is slick, and has a light bitterness. The beer feels a bit unbalanced with all the anis. In the end it’s an okay and interesting Christmas ale.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a small, frothy white head. Fine duration. Aroma has mild Werthers Echte, caramel, coriander, cardemum, vanilla. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, quite malty bitter, coriander, cinnamon. Malty and piney bitter finish. Light warming.
