3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 25, 2012
The beer in the glass is strong golden yellow, with pearly, soapy head. It smells malty-sweet and slightly sugary. Starts dominant malty and very sweet, subtle hoppy in the background. The middle part shows full-bodied malty, very tasty and pleasantly sweet. Goes into a malty-grainy, slightly sugary-sweet finish!
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - FEB 19, 2012
Bottle. Nose is sweet citrusy malt with light hay and even a hint of vanilla. Clear golden with some orange and brown tones, soapy beige head. Sweet malty nose with a fair bit of alcohol showing, add a little grass to the light vanilla. Light bitterness with the booze, strong floral honey. Sticky fullish body is soft with mild carbonation and a little simplistic, but not by no means bad.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7054) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Leichter Schokoladengeruch.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Kristall-König (1638) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Eher muffig-malziger Geruch. Antrunk süß-malzig. Mitte getreidig mit süßlichen Aspekten, die im Abgang bitter überlagert werden. Hintergründig schwingt immer noch eine muffige Note mit.
Geht so. Sehr durchschnittlich.Test vom 12.10.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (6207) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 24, 2011
500ml bottle (Trade with Quack-Duck)
6- Initially simple but full grainy aroma, then a little fuller in the roast, hinting at cocoa, but a little later having a bit of alcohol too.
3 Light copper, brief head.
7- Lovely retronasals, worth a 7 for sure, and the full malty taste is quite lush, with a slight sweet milkiness, and again some gentle roastedness, but unfortunately there’s just a bit too much alcohol in there too, so thought seriously of docking it to 6. Fortunately, the alcohol diminishes over time, so it stays in the tasty zone.
4 Smooth and full palate, slightly sweet, but with pleasant cabonation and a crispening noble hop bitter bite. Those hops hang around for a while, and that noble bite helps anaesthetise the tastebuds against the alcohol. Sneaky.
13 This one started off a little harsh, but ended up being the kind of beer that better Eastern European ESLs model themselves on.
