Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that retains well.
Nose is light dark malt, toffee, caramel, hint of chocolate.
Taste comprises light chocolate, light roast malt, toffee.
Medium bodied, not too thin, soft on the palate.
Decent enough mild.

Pigs Ear. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Little pale tan head. Light palate. Very modest carbonation. Mild dark malts, a little tangy. Super mild esters. Dry finish. Inoffensive but somewhat bland.

Cask conditioned at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford. This was definitely the 4.5% version. Dark brown with cream head. Fullish, smooth heavily caramelised beer, fairly sweet, little follow through but some roasty notes perhaps. Ok.
