3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask Conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Hazy amber with no head. This was a drying malty bitter with a nutty, Brazil Nut, background. There was also a pronounced popcorn type taste, slightly strange but ok.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ the Mill, Cambridge. Reddish-brown bitter. What it lacks in head it makes up for in clarity. Floral, leafy and bready aroma. Taste starts with a sharp bitter with sweet edges, then fades to an intense bitter-sour with a papery dry finish. Refreshing. Reminiscent of Adnams Southwold, but I think this beer just shades it. Very happy to make its acquaintance.

Flavours are sweet cookie malts with nutty husk notes. Peppery with yeast and bitter lemon. Even a little champagne woodiness. Nice.

20th February 2013
Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Almost clear amber beer with decent off white suddy head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Dried fruits - pleasant. A little tang. Drop of stewed tea. Mild malts and not too much bitterness. Semi dry finish. Standard bitter but mellow and done well.

Cask (Cambridge Blue, Cambridge)
Aromas of undergrowth and brown mess, says Anna. Red-orange, small head. Mushroom in the mouth. Quoth Phil, a slightly roasty choco-coffee message from the malts. Mushroom and weirdness definitely there in the taste. Some bran in the finish. Brown all over - earthy, undergrowthy, branny. Some muesli in the aroma too later. Got a touch of honey in my late sniffs and tastes.
