Rhyme & Reason, Extra Pale Ale American style pale ale. The flavour and aroma of Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe hops prevail without excessive bitterness for maximum drinkability. Malt sweetness of Pale Ale, Crystal Carafoam and Wheat Flakes in the background complements the hops for a crisp finish. 5.7 ABV 55 IBUs (Bottles and Draft)

fhoublon (428) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2016

Appearance: clear pale amber with one fat finger of fluffy ivory head, excellent retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: resiny pine, catty, citrus, pale malt. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Can I just say, their decision to integrate their labels with the Blippar app is just fucking genius? Crack a beer, scan the label, and rock out (in this bottle’s case, to a choral rendition of Toto’s “Africa”) - what’s not to like? Oh, and the beer’s quite decent, too. Resiny pine leads, with a mild and inoffensive catty edge, and just the right pale malt supporting. The bitterness in the finish is fairly lingering and aggressive, and I can see it being a deal breaker for some - but not me. Yeah, it’s got some rough edges, but ultimately it’s a solid APA. (15/20)

Pours a hazy gold colour with one finger of lasting head. Aroma of apples, pears, mangos and citrus. Taste matches the aroma and finishes dry and hoppy. Medium carbonation.

Six pack of bottles from the LCBO. Poured in to a tulip glass. Pleasant but unremarkable aroma. Pleasing dark amber with good bit of white head. Subtle citrus and hint of pine hoppiness, lively carbonation. Most enjoyable. This will be a favourite for a while...

This is a great beer. Pours a bright yellowish gold with a dense and thick white head. The nose smells like and English IPA with a light biscuity malt and grassy hop notes. The flavour is English up front with tropical fruits and dose of pine on the back end. Balanced, crisp and punchy with a nice pine aftertaste.

Beardbeerman (339) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 30, 2016
Pours a foggy amber topped by a substantial coarse beige head showing great retention and lacing properties. Vivid small are spotted through the glass. The nose is fresh, grapefruit, honey, toasted malts. The taste is bold, fresh and sweet. Good corpus and bitterness. Very subtle mineral notes and a very dry green vegetable finish. Very good. Cheers!
