COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rhyme & Reason, Extra Pale Ale American style pale ale. The flavour and aroma of Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe hops prevail without excessive bitterness for maximum drinkability. Malt sweetness of Pale Ale, Crystal Carafoam and Wheat Flakes in the background complements the hops for a crisp finish. 5.7 ABV 55 IBUs (Bottles and Draft)

At County General Restaurant. January 15, 2014. Faint aroma. Strong pine flavour. Seemed to not have much depth beyond the hops.

Pours and looks great. Aroma has some pine mostly, and some citrus. Taste is smooth with just a slight bite, a good hop combination here.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow color ale with a generous white head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of citrus hops with lightly sweet malt notes is quiet pleasant. Taste is also a good mix between some citrus hops with some light tropical fruit notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good drinkability with just enough complexity (hops floral notes could be a bit more powerful) with wheat malt barely noticeable.

355 ml bottle sample. Pours a very light, slightly hazy straw yellow with a small white head. Aromas are nice pine resin, chalk, mild funk, and straw. Tastes are resiny hops, citrus fruits, and a little funk. Chalky, astringent on the palate, light body, long dry finish. Nice APA but a little bit too astringent for my personal taste.

355ml bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a thin frothy white head. Aroma is bready malts, citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is sweet, malty with pine resin and earthy notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth texture. Slight bitter finish.

Bottle. Pour is very light copper with a little bit of cloudiness, fluffy white head, clumpy islands of lace. Nose is very tropical, citrus, everything you could want from the style. Caramel malt as well. Tastes sweet, caramel malt, citrus bitter. Great beer.

OK straight to the point "Job Well Done" Saw this @ the LCBO, the packaging made it stand out, very well done. Love at first sip, hoppy, citrus (grapefruit) very drinkable, so smooth. A mid amber colour filtered for sure, nice sturdy head. I am a sucker for IPA’s this "pale" version is very nice Collective Arts , more beers please.

This is a beautiful beer. I’ve been looking for a hoppy, sessionable APA in Ontario - really glad to have found this one. Very similar (with less malt backbone) to a 3 Floyds Alpha King. Lovely hop character that balances with the alcohol level perfectly. A great competitor to Crazy Canuck and Naughty Neighbour - and superior to both of them. I really hope Collective Arts brews this regularly and keeps the LCBO stocked as this is my new "table beer" - the one you keep in the fridge year round.

Golden yellow colour with fast white head and overall clearish colouring. Pungent hoppy aroma with pine apple and pine cone approach backed by almost no malts. On the palate it proves fast, watery mid-palate and has a slightly hoppy/bitter finish. Better than expected given the ’extra pale ale’ labeling (part of the reason why I hesistated buying this one). Needs a bit more body but decent none the less.

Hazy orange pour, fluffy white head. Great citrus fruit aroma. All hops, no malts, and some pithy bitterness. Solid mouth feel, very active carb. The finish is quite bitter, a nice grapefruit pith bitterness. Loads of citrus, and some soapy pine resins. A great beer. But I would classify it as an IPA, not an apa.
