COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rhyme & Reason, Extra Pale Ale American style pale ale. The flavour and aroma of Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe hops prevail without excessive bitterness for maximum drinkability. Malt sweetness of Pale Ale, Crystal Carafoam and Wheat Flakes in the background complements the hops for a crisp finish. 5.7 ABV 55 IBUs (Bottles and Draft)

Golden yellow colour with fast white head and overall clearish colouring. Pungent hoppy aroma with pine apple and pine cone approach backed by almost no malts. On the palate it proves fast, watery mid-palate and has a slightly hoppy/bitter finish. Better than expected given the ’extra pale ale’ labeling (part of the reason why I hesistated buying this one). Needs a bit more body but decent none the less.

Hazy orange pour, fluffy white head. Great citrus fruit aroma. All hops, no malts, and some pithy bitterness. Solid mouth feel, very active carb. The finish is quite bitter, a nice grapefruit pith bitterness. Loads of citrus, and some soapy pine resins. A great beer. But I would classify it as an IPA, not an apa.

Pours cloudy gold with a big frothy white top. Aroma is fruity and citrus hops with some honey sweetness. Taste is a great mix of fruity, citrus and earthy hop bitterness with a small bready malt in the backend. Surprisingly awesome beer. Now going to be in my mix for my fall back IPA in my fridge.

Bottle - pours golden clear ale with a rocky one finger cap - decent lacing. Aroma is a hop lover’s wet dream earthy, citrus, herbal, floral (dry hopped Citra, Simcoe, Chinook). Medium bodied, smooth, rich mouth feel. Flavor is one of a well put together APA - fairly good hop bittering/citrus/earthiness in balance with the sturdy pale malts...goes lightly dry in the finish with a pleasing bittering. If the brewer’s intent was an approachable easy drinking big pale, they accomplished that in spades.

6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a warm foamy cap, good retention and lots of patchy-soapy lacing. Big hoppy aromas that are a little different at first with some tropical fruits notes mixed with the grapefruit. Not as hoppy in the taste, but still some nice grass giving some beautiful dry mouthfeel. Still wet enough to go down nicely. A pretty interesting Extra Pale Ale.

Bottle - Sweet grapefruit with some malt. Cloudy gold with a rich beige head. Well balanced malts and hops, resinous and a bit of citrus. Nice hoppy crisp pale ale.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a light hazy orange with generous cream coloured head. that leaves lots of lace. Nose is heavy pine and grapefruit. Great up front bitterness with some sweet toffee and a good dry bitter finish. Body and carbonation are average and feels a little thinner than you would expect but that actually seems to make it more enjoyable. Pleasantly surprised by this one.

341 mL bottle. Possibly the hoppiest pale ale I’ve ever had. Certainly in terms of flavour, if not bitterness. Lots or resin. Perhaps too much to be deemed "drinkable," if you know what I mean. Certainly is tasty, though.

Saw this 6 pack peeking out at me from the shelf with a come hither look when I was at the LCBO & figured I better go home with it. Good thing I did cuz this is a killer brew. Exactly what I’ve been looking for from a local craft brewery: a sessionable pale ale rich with hops & a brisk finish. Reminds me of the the totally awesome Founders All Day IPA south of the border & a bit edgier than Naughty Neighbour.

355 mL bottle from LCBO served cold in a tulip glass. Clear deep golden with a nice off-white head. Beautiful, juicy hops, resinous, grapefruit, dank, tropical fruits, all held together with sufficient light malt support. Medium+ body, moderate to Lew effervescence. A bit more stern and serious than the nose, more pine and resin and dank, less fruitiness, still had nice malt support; dry with pretty good bitterness and a malty, pine, peppery finish. Lovely stuff.
