Cask, Occasional & Bottled;
A bright amber ale, smooth initially with a slight hint of the Munich malt coming through from the grist. This is complemented well by the stronger refreshing taste from this well hopped beer. Named after the unusual mural of a headless dog at the front door to the brewery.

Bottle from Dunnes, Longford [170214]
Golden amber, clear, frothy white head that dissipates, slight lacing
Aroma - Initially mellow citrus hops, slightly floral, touch of orange in there, sweet light caramel malts, nose diminishes fairly quickly to a slight floral hint and sweet caramel with a dab of hay
Taste - Soft citrus hops, touch of orange zest, slight floral notes, fairly light caramel grain, malts, some hay again, not that hoppy, flavour very average - not keen on that hay note
Palate medium carb and body, fairly oily, quite a sweet palate. Finish - bitter light soft zest hops, fairly sweet light caramel malts, quite refreshing though
Overall - Not a well hopped beer at all, rather average supermarket beer, might be better on cask

Bottle at CBC - Clerkenwell, London during Bruce’s 30th Birthday Party. Many thanks to Colin. Pours clear, pale gold with a light, white cream head. Dry, doughy malt aroma with light citric notes. Light sweet flavor with more dry dough, some pepper notes, light hay. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Mellow sweetness to finish with more peppery zip and dry dough. Fine. I don’t mind this stuff.

Pale gold, clear body, white head, thinning. Not much on the nose, some biscuit malt, soap and hints of hops. More light malt in the flavour, quite light bodied and light of flavour. Biscuit, toast in the finish. Ok, a bit boring.

Bottle @ Bruce’s birthday tasting. Cheers to whoever brought this along. The pour’s medium amber with a small head. The aroma’s some caramel, spiced apple, light apricot fruit. Hints of soft citrus. Mild grain. The taste is more grainy husk, some brown bread. Notes of apple and apricot fruit. Light woodland hoppiness. Medium body, dull on the palate. Overall, really forgettable stuff. OK, but boring.

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th celebrations, 08/02/13, from the brewery shop picked up during Hilden Fest ’12. Lightly haxed pale golden with a thin white head. Nose is pale malt, light hops, fruit. Taste follows, orange, citrus notes, straw. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, touch of bitterness in the finish. Very basic average fayre ... yawn !

at Bruce’s 30th, thanks to Colin. It pours clear golden with a thick off-white head. The nose is dough, orange peel, bergamot and candy cane. The taste is hay, straw, earth, faint spice and citrus peel with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty bland. Mediocre at best!
