3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
This beer has a nice thick head that dissipates quickly. A very nice aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. It is a little thin on the palette. The taste is good with roasted malt but a little too thin for my taste. Over all a good beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes. From my AZ trip.
The appearance was a dark black color. one finger off white foamy head that quickly dies and leaves no lacing.
The smell had a mainly dark roasty chocolate, and I don’t know why but I get a rubbery sort of aroma - weird and as far as I knowits not necessarily unpleasant, its just different.
The taste was a roasty sweet chocolate, still getting the rubber in the taste as well, leaves the same aftertaste and has a super sweet sticky finish.
On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body, tries to show a sessionable aspect but maintains a somewhat heavier effect to make me try to sip it.
Overall, I say this is a pretty good stout I was surprised to find in AZ as I could definitely have this as a decent winter sipper or for those cooler nights at the least.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 2/20
On tap at the brewery. Served ice cold, not a great sign to start. Black, mostly opaque, and very little head. Aroma is malt and some roast, with a slight coffee scent. The flavor is anything but sweet; this is one of the driest stouts I’ve had. Lots of roast and malt flavor with a bitter finish. Overall not a great stout, and it seemed watered down.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Opaque brown/black with a short-lived tan head, thin bands of lace. The taste is mostly toasted malt with overtones of semi-sweet chocolate that enter in the palate. The finish adds a small bit of bittering. The drink is slightly oily and heavy, which doesn’t encourage more than one. Overall, a decent, but not memorable example of the style.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with tan head. Weird aroma not toasty. Flavor is familiar with roasted barley and some coffee. But nothing special. Not much on the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle pours dark brown with a weak mocha head. The modest aroma pulls up earthy malts as well as dark roasted malts and a coffee sensation. The taste is alright where I get dark roasted malts, a dash of burnt malts here and there, dark roasted coffee and then slivers of malt sweetness for added interest. It becomes more roasty and burnt into the finish. Pretty tasty stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of large coffee and notes of chocolate. Large coffee, chocolate, a good malt bitter with a dry finish. Medium bodied and fizzy.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice chocolate aroma from the midnight black pour. Strong chocolate and to a lesser extent coffee notes. Mildly roasted malt notes. A bit thin in mouthfeel. Overall pretty good, but is on the weak side in thickness and robustness; more a traditional European stout than an American variety, yet better than the prototype Young's. interestingly enough does not pair very well with chocolate! Would really love to see an imperial version of this -- everything is here, there just needs to be more.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle; poured a dark brown/black with a light to normal brown head. Aroma of cocoa predominantly, with some caramel, roasted malt, minerals, and chalk. Flavor had much more of a roasted and ashy presence; some cocoa and caramel. Touch of sweetness. Solid mouthfeel. A quality brew for sure.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Daknole! Pours near black with a slight light tan head that fades to a halo. No lacing. Aroma is all chocolate. Taste is overwhelmed by dark chocolate notes with a bit of roasted malts. Nice dry mouthfeel. Very drinkable but nice and warming.
